Types of E-Procurement Bidding Services
Open Tendering
Any eligible supplier can participate. Promotes transparency and maximum competition in e-procurement tenders.
Limited Tendering
Invitation sent only to a pre-qualified or shortlisted set of vendors. Used when goods/services are specialized or limited suppliers exist on an e-procurement portal.
Two-Bid System
Vendors first submit technical bids. Only technically qualified bidders’ financial bids are opened, a common practice in e-tendering.
Reverse Auction (RA)
Shortlisted bidders compete online by reducing prices in real-time. Ensures lowest competitive price for the buyer through the e-procurement portal.
Single Tender (RA)
Contract awarded to a single vendor without competition. Used in urgent requirements or when only one supplier is available for an e-procurement tender.
Request for Quotation (RFQ)
Buyers invite price quotations from a set of suppliers. Faster and simpler compared to open tenders; often for lower-value procurements via an e-procurement portal.
